Week of April 7, 2024 ///////
Welcome to Everyday! This is designed to not only help you digest and apply what you hear on Sundays, but also to encourage you all throughout the week...EVERYDAY! Everyday is here to "fuel your full-time faith"! If there are things you'd like to see added to future Everyday's, reach out to use (the contact info is at the bottom) because we'd love to hear from you!
*And don't forget to use EVERYDAY every day! New content added during the week, so watch for it!
If you're new to Southside Church, we want to make sure we have the chance to meet you (if you're okay with that)! Anytime this morning, stop at the Information Table and give us a chance to say hi and give you a thank-you gift for visiting Southside Church. We hope you feel at home right away, and that you'll be back soon!
Message Notes:
This is designed to help you engage with today's message and also help you take the message with you and apply it every day this week.
1. What's the capital of Zimbabwe? (The answer is located at the end.)
2. Based on what you know of the Pharisees, why do you think they often tried to trick Jesus or challenge what He was teaching/doing?
3. What were the 2 holy books for the Pharisees? (They're mentioned in Pastor Jason's message.)
1. T____________ 2. T____________
4. If you were to put Deuteronomy 6:4-9 into your own words, how would you rephrase it? (These verses are the Jewish prayer known as the "Shema".)
5. In today's message, Pastor Jason talks about "head knowledge, but not heart experience". When it comes to faith in Jesus, what is the difference between those two, in your opinion? Is one more important than the other?
6. Jesus challenged a Pharisee to "go and do the same". What was he referring to? How can you apply that today and throughout your week?
BRAIN MAZE! (Just for fun)
In this week's message, Pastor Jason talks about the difference between head knowledge and heart experience. See if you can find your way through the brain!
Monday: Pray for one of your teachers and then when you see them next, tell them you prayed for them.
Tuesday: Read the Shema at dinner (or whenever you're with your family) and ask everyone to summarize it.
Wednesday: If it's safe and your parents are okay with it, walk around the neighborhood you live in (up the street, around the block, etc.) and pray for the people who live around you. Even better, walk with a friend or a parent.
Thursday: Look for an opportunity to do something completely selfless today. After you do, thank God for allowing you to do that thing.
Friday: Write a list of 20 things you're grateful for. Then thank God for them.
Saturday: Rest.
